Classroom Makeover: A Cozy Space for All of Us

I’ve been working in my room so I could write about this classroom reveal most of the summer! This room was previously used as a teacher workroom, the speech pathologists room, and an extra room for the paras to pull a few kids and work with them in small groups.

The past five years I have worked in the high school teaching art to grades 8-12, helping with credit recovery, teaching yearbook, and a miscellaneous assortment of other grades and subjects (elementary computers one year, 7th grade English one year, 8th-grade English another year). My resources for elementary subjects and classroom decor was gone. I had either given it away when I first moved to the high school or in stages the longer I was over there.

Now I’m back in the younger grades and I am starting over. Taking a room that is completely empty and overhauling it is a great time to do a classroom makeover. Are you ready for the major classroom reveal? If you didn’t see the before photos, there are in this post!

Building My Collection

I have been creating new resources, printing, laminating and cutting non-stop. There is a trail worn between my house and the school from the daily (sometimes multiple daily) trips I make to take something finished to my room and then bring the next project home. Teachers Pay Teachers is a great place to find resources for bulletins, handouts, centers, and more!!

If you haven’t browsed around there yet, I would recommend you check it out. I sell my own products there, but I have also purchased from a handful of fantastic sellers. Brag Tags and Classroom Economy for classroom management. Reading and Math bulletin posters and vocabulary cards as well as centers.

Thanks for stopping by to see my classroom reveal.
